The Business Alliance of Charles County celebrated its first year in grand fashion, hosting a celebration for members and guests at the Jaycees center in Waldorf.
In addition to thanking inaugural Chairman Wayne Magoon and board of directors members for their service and welcoming new Chairwoman Ginny Crane of Big B Liquors in Bryans Road, the crowd was entertained by professional comedian Kelly Terranova, Karaoke by DJ Christian & Absolute Entertainment and dozens of door prizes provided by alliance members.
Highlights of BACC’s first year included the creation of alliances with the Small Business Development & Technology Center, state of Maryland’s Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation One Stop Career Center, Charles County Department of Economic Development, College of Southern Maryland, New Life Church, Chick-fil-A of Charles County and others, according to a news release from the business group.
Business alliance-promoted workshops, seminars and nonprofit fundraisers were prominent throughout 2012, as were networking socials and online member directory, barter connections and discussion forums.
Magoon passed the gavel to Crane, who said she is “excited about the opportunity to continue to grow the alliance and create new opportunities for BACC members and our community.”
