Jacquelyn Meiser, director of the St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission, is stepping down from the job as of Jan. 14. She will become MetCom’s general counsel/public and government affairs officer, the MetCom board announced Friday.
“Her decision was based on her desire to focus on the legal functions and responsibilities of the commission and obtain a more flexible schedule,” a MetCom statement said.
“She was selected from a field of highly qualified applicants. The commissioners respect Ms. Meiser’s decision and commend and thank her for the level of commitment and professionalism she has demonstrated in leading the commission for the past four years. They look forward to working with her in her new role,” the release said.
Meiser has been the director of MetCom since March 2, 2009.
Dan Ichniowski, the deputy director, will become the acting director on Jan. 14.
