A Forestville High School senior was named Prince George’s County Public Schools’ Scholar of the Week in early December.
Jesseki Kelly maintains a 3.85 grade point average and is involved in a number of academic and extracurricular activities, according to the county school system.
Her academic courses have included honors art studio, honors biology, honors English, Advanced Placement language, Advanced Placement English, Advanced Placement psychology, Advanced Placement chemistry, Advanced Placement calculus and Advanced Placement human geography.
She also is involved in her church choir, an art club, the National Honor Society and is a manager for the school’s wrestling team.
According to the school system, she also has logged more than 300 community service learning hours and enjoys drawing, reading and creative writing in her spare time.
She plans to attend Bowie State University or the University of Maryland and has been given an acceptance letter from Delaware State University, according to the county school system. She plans to pursue a career in journalism.
