The St. Mary’s County Tennis Association held its third annual Feast or Slammin’ Tennis Tournament on Nov. 17 at Great Mills High School.

The tournament featured 24 area tennis players who braved the cold weather and competed for five hours with all proceeds benefitting the Southern Maryland Food Bank. The event raised $507 and collected 120 pounds of canned goods and other non-perishable food items.

Special awards were given to oldest participant, which was St. Mary’s Ryken head boys tennis coach Russ Carrington, and the youngest participant, which Scott Flood, freshman at Leonardtown High School.
