Prince George’s County fire officials say a Friday evening fire in a Greenbelt house left a woman dead and two people injured.

Firefighters responded to the fire at a row house on Laurel Hill Road at around 9 p.m. Two people escaped the fire, which took firefighters about 15 minutes to get under control, said Mark Brady, Prince George’s County Fire Department chief spokesperson.

After searching the home, fire fighters found an elderly woman deceased. Her name and age were not released. The two people who escape the fire had serious but not life-threatening injuries. The relationship between the three occupants of the home was not immediately available.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. An estimated $50,000 worth of damage was caused to the home and two others surrounding it, Brady said.
