A little more than a dozen people showed up to the second annual Cookie Exchange held by Mount Rainier’s neighborhood watch group on Dec. 21 at Urban Eats on Rhode Island Avenue.

Residents exchanged a wide array of cookies and other baked goods, including chocolate chip scones, sugar cookies and cinnamon rolls, said Tyrese Robinson, the head of the neighborhood watch group. Robinson also said she gave a brief presentation on the neighborhood watch.

The goal of the event was to expose residents to neighborhood watch and to being residents together, Robinson said.

“It was a good platform to introduce new people to the idea of [Safety Unity and Beautification],” said Robinson, referring to her vision for the city.
