A man was reportedly stabbed during a bar fight in Chesapeake Beach on New Year’s Eve.
Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans (R) said the fight occurred at Captain Bigs in Chesapeake Beach. The victim did not have a “life threatening injury,” Evans said. No arrests have been made yet in the incident, but “suspects are known,” he said.
The rest of the county remained relatively quiet during the New Year’s holiday with no major incidents leading to arrests.
Evans said there were “just a few” driving under the influence arrests made, but “nothing out of the ordinary.”
Det. Sgt. A. Paton, assistant commander of the Maryland State Police Prince Frederick barrack, said last weekend and the New Year’s holiday were “fairly routine” for troopers. He said on New Year’s Eve, only two people were arrested by troopers for driving under the influence.
