Maryland State Police are investigating an accident involving two vehicles that occurred on Leonardtown Road in front of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary information from Charles County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Diane Richardson, a Ford Expedition was turning left into the sheriff’s office parking lot at 8:26 a.m. and collided with a pickup truck traveling north. The Expedition turned over on impact.
Richardson said some sheriff’s officers heard the crash from the lot and went to the scene to assist, though the investigation is being handled by MSP, who were also on the scene.
Richardson said two people from the pickup truck were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
No other information was available by Tuesday afternoon.
