David Allen Saunders, 53, of Hughesville died peacefully Jan. 3, 2013, at Hospice House of Charles County in Waldorf.

Born Sept. 25, 1959, in Leonardtown, he was the son of George P. Saunders and Margaret Miedzinski Saunders.

He was a self-employed beverage distributor for Saunders Distributors.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially being on his boat crabbing and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother of Hughesville; his wife, Terry L. Saunders; daughters, Jeanie M. Hafsi of Tampa, Fla., and Candy L. Quade of Linthicum; son, Brian M. Saunders of Waldorf; brothers, George M. Saunders Sr. of Mechanicsville, Joseph C. Saunders of La Plata and William F. Saunders of Hughesville; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today, Jan. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.
