Emmitsburg group prepares to rock and roll -- Gazette.Net

Hand jive and twist to the rock and roll hits of the 1950s and 1960s, at the fourth annual fundraiser to benefit the Emmitsburg Business and Professional Association.

Enjoy the sounds of the band “The Rock N Roll Relics” while reliving popular dances from that era. The association is holding its dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Jan. 26, at the Emmitsburg Volunteer Ambulance Company building, at 17701 Creamery Road in Emmitsburg.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance by calling Bob Rosensteel, at 301-401-7287.

“We’re only selling 300 tickets and [Rock N Roll Relics] always draws a big crowd,” said Rosensteel, a member of the Emmitsburg Business and Professional Association board.

Rosensteel said the association will use all proceeds from the dance to benefit several organizations in town.

“All the money is donated back to the community at large,” he said.

For example, some of the money will be donated to the Emmitsburg Food Bank, college scholarships, and the Emmitsburg Lion’s Club’s Fourth of July fireworks display.

“By the end of the year we make sure we’ve run out of money,” Rosensteel said.
