Ruth Regina “Jeannie” Green, 70, of Broomes Island died Jan. 6, 2013, surrounded by her loving family after struggling valiantly with COPD and other medical complications.

She retired in 2008 after a highly successful career, which included serving as the general manager of the St. Mary’s Tide newspaper in St. Mary’s County and then The Calvert Recorder newspaper in Calvert County. She loved the Washington Redskins, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and cooking for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Roland Brady Sr. and Ruth Virginia Brady; three sisters, Sara Eldridge, Lorena Mister and Jeannette Brady; and brother, James Edward Brady.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Raymond L. Green of Broomes Island; children, Robert Joseph Dow and his wife, Kelley, of Atlanta, Ga., Sherry Lea Gold and her husband, Gary, of Dunkirk, Terry Allen “Joe” Dow and his wife, Susan, of Hampton, Va., Jerry Dean Dow of Winston Salem, N.C., Susan Lopez and her husband, Roy, of Lusby and Gina Jafari and her partner, Jody, of St. Leonard; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Elsie Mae Robinson and her husband, Vernon; and brothers, William “Sonny” Brady Jr. and his wife, Shirley, Thomas Walter Brady and his wife, Sandy, Milton Gary Brady and Robert Clark Brady and his wife, Wendy; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Memorial service was held Jan. 9 at Rausch Funeral Home in Port Republic with a prayer service.

Interment will be private.
