A teenage girl was assaulted Jan. 17 on her morning walk to a school bus stop in Fort Washington and Prince George’s police say they are now seeking a man responsible for the attack.

Around 6:30 a.m. near Lourdes Drive and Hickory Drive, the girl was approached by a man and he grabbed her, causing them both to fall to the ground, according to county police.

Police said the girl managed to kick the man while on the ground and she ran away to her father, who called police.

The police department is now searching for the man responsible and have stationed police cruisers at three nearby bus stops while going through neighborhoods to follow up on leads.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect.

Anyone with information of the alleged attack is asked to call police at 301-749-5064 or Prince George’s Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
