Cooper Lane Elementary School in Landover Hills is planning to host its first “Get Moving Night” to emphasize family fitness from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24.
Karla Reyes, a parent and community outreach assistant at the school, said the event is an attempt to get students and their families to exercise and stay physically fit together. Reyes said the event will also be open to the public, not just the immediate school community.
“It’s your basic family fitness and nutrition night,” Reyes said. “We wanted to invite people from the community and provide demonstrations on proper fitness and nutrition.”
The event will be held at the school, located at 3817 Cooper Lane. For more information, call the school at 301-925-1350.
