The Prince George’s County Public Schools Boundary Hearings are now scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 30 and Feb. 6 in the Board Room of the Sasscer Administration Building, located at 14201 School Lane in Upper Marlboro.

The meetings were rescheduled from their earlier dates of Jan. 22, 23 and 24 to allow for additional time to incorporate public opinions from boundary forums held last fall, said school system spokesman Briant Coleman.

Under discussion will be changes to boundaries between Oxon Hill and Potomac high schools, and between Accokeek Academy and Oxon Hill and Isaac Gourdine middle schools; moving sixth grade from elementary to middle school in several locations; the formation of a new K-8 deaf and hard-of-hearing program; and other minor boundary changes.

Details regarding Interim Superintendent Dr. Alvin Crawley’s school boundary recommendations can be found on the school system website at www1.pgcps.org.

“These are the actual hearings on boundaries held before the Board of Education,” said Coleman. “The earlier meetings were forums held by the superintendent to get public feedback on his proposals. He will now present his plans to the board.”

Community members are encouraged to attend and share input. To register to speak, call 301-952-6300 by 4:30 p.m. on the date of the hearing. Speakers will be given three minutes. Comments and questions may also be submitted via email to pasb.boundaries@pgcps.org.
