Lydia Mae “Tootie” Troy, 94, of Solomons died Dec. 20, 2012, at Solomons Nursing Center.

She was born in Keyser, W.Va.

She worked, sang in churches and plays, crafted, read, participated in community and church organizations and loved to visit and travel. She was also in commercials and movies, most notably, the original “Hairspray.” She affected the lives of people she met spiritually, emotionally and physically. She planted seeds of faith, which continue to grow even now, in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She believed Proverbs 1:7. She attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in North Beach. In her own words, she “had a ball” and is with “her Father in Heaven.”

She is survived by her six children; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Mass for her will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in North Beach.

Interment will be at a later date.
