Florence Genzel Natiello, 89, of Huntingtown died Jan. 14, 2013, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

She was born July 11, 1923, in Pigeon Grove, Ill., to Peter and Elsie (Woodard) Genzel.

She was raised and received her education in Milford, Ill. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy on March 16, 1944, and was stationed at the Washington Navy Yard as a communications specialist. It was at the Navy Yard where she met Thomas E. Natiello. She was discharged from the Navy on Feb. 19, 1946. She and Thomas were married Feb. 23, 1946, and they resided in Lyndhurst, N.J. She loved bingo and would drive a 15-passenger van to Trenton, N.J., and Pennsylvania to play. Her husband died April 6, 1985. She moved to Huntingtown with her daughter in 1991. While living in Huntingtown, she played bingo in Owings, Huntingtown and Charlotte Hall. She also enjoyed watching game shows and spending time with her family. Her favorite dessert and snack were chocolate cupcakes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ernest Natiello; and sons, Gregory A. and James M. Natiello.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda J. Boyce of Huntingtown; son, Thomas L. Natiello of New York; granddaughters, Lisa M. Boyce of Huntingtown, Cheri Boyce Shifflett and her husband, Larry, of Huntingtown, Shelly and her husband, Joseph Jr., of New Jersey, Christy and her husband, Jason, of Virginia, Michelle and Helene Natiello, both of New York, and Melissa Brown and her husband, Jeff, of Florida; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. today, Jan. 18, at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst, N.J.
