You don’t have to be on the PTO or even have a child in school to help your local school. Every single member of our community, including businesses, can help our schools by taking just a minute to sign up for local affinity programs, where schools can be designated recipients.
Every household in Charles County buys groceries, and luckily for our students and teachers, grocery stores such as Safeway, Giant, Food Lion and Target all have member reward programs where you can select a school to earn a percentage of the money you spend to benefit classrooms.
I urge everyone in our community to help support our schools by signing up through www.escrip.com (Safeway), www.giantfood.com/aplus (Giant), www.foodlion.com/CommunityOutreach/MVPRewards (Food Lion) or www.secure.target.com/redcard/tcoe/home (Target), and selecting a school to benefit from your purchases.
It only takes a minute of your time, but it’s found money for our schools, which can always use a little support. And there’s no better investment than in our future.
So please, take a minute out of your day to sign up with your local grocer’s affinity program and select Mary H. Matula Elementary School or another school of your choosing.
Thank you in advance to our community for your support. And thank you to our participating Safeway, Giant, Food Lion and Target stores for their continued support of our schools through these programs.
