At the meet against Westlake our team had a goal, to swim our best and to win.
Both the boys and girls teams were able to achieve this as we won overall as a team.
Our girls 200 medley relay was able to get a first-place win. Everyone’s dedication to the team led us to victory. We are very pleased with the win, but we knew that there is an important meet this week.
Sickness has become an issue with our team. Several people haven’t been at practice as a result. Everyone is trying to stay healthy. Our team is already very small, so everyone being healthy is key to our meets.
The team has been trying our best to do everything we can to stay away from becoming ill. No matter what, we still have to swim whether some teammates are there or not.
Hopefully, everyone is feeling better by Friday for our meet.
We all knew that this week’s practice would test us all. Along with practices, we have had dry lands, which is helping everyone to continuously become stronger. Everyone has been pushing themselves to their limits.
All of us want to drop time, so hopefully with the difficult practices we will all be able to execute this at our next meet.
Friday, we swim against Great Mills and Leonardtown. This will definitely be a challenge for us as they both are large teams with strong swimmers.
We will have to push ourselves and stay focused. There is potential but we need everyone to be ready to race.
Also, the team needs to have the right mental toughness going into this meet. We need to concentrate on our races and the times we want.
Nothing is stopping us.
