A 21-year-old was shot and killed in Forestville today, accounting for three homicides in Prince George’s County since Friday night.

Around 3 a.m. Monday in the 3300 block of Walters Lane, county police responded to a report of “a man down,” police said.

Officers found Brandon Rashad Catlett, 21, of the 6400 block of Hil Man Drive in Forestville, suffering from a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead on scene, according to county police.

County police are now trying to identify possible suspects and determine a motive in the killing, said Cpl. Maria McKinney, a county police spokeswoman.

Family members of Catlett’s could not be reached for comment.

In a separate incident just before midnight Sunday, Marcus Antonio Jones, 16, was shot and killed while leaving a house party in Fort Washington.

On Friday night in District Heights, Antonio Delonte Ross, 23, was found in the 1600 block of Tulip Avenue suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken to an area hospital where he died.

In that case, detectives found a vehicle believed to be used by the suspect abandoned in Washington, D.C. The car had been set on fire, police said.

Catlett’s death marks the county’s sixth homicide in 2013.
