The following items were compiled from reports from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office. During the week of Jan. 14 through 20, deputies responded to 1,342 calls for service throughout the community.
Three arrested for drug violations
At 5:18 p.m. Jan. 19, Cpl. A. Moschetto stopped a vehicle for suspected drunk driving and arrested three people. The driver, Nicholas W. Davis, 21, of Dunkirk was charged with possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of Oxycodone, possession of Klonopin, possession of paraphernalia and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use. Nicholas R. Soldo, 22, of Linden, Va., was charged with possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of Klonopin, possession of paraphernalia and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use. A 15-year-old female from Front Royal was charged on a youth report with possession of Klonopin and possession of synthetic marijuana and released to a relative.
Woman charged for drug possession
Dfc. R. Kreps stopped a vehicle at about midnight Jan. 17 on Route 4 and Cherry Hill Road. The driver, Marguerite L. Hangliter, 48, of Huntingtown, was arrested and charged with possession of Alprazolam and heroin and two counts of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
Someone stole a 3-ton heat pump, a gas powered Homelite blower and two 5-gallon gas cans, valued at $1,120, from the yard and shed of a home in the 11200 block of Sitting Bull Trail between Dec. 24 and Jan. 14. Dfc. R. Weems is investigating.
Jewelry stolen from home
A home in the 700 block of Crazy Horse Trail was burglarized sometime between Jan. 9 and 16 and about $1,050 worth of jewelry was taken. Deputy J. Brown is investigating.
Four cited for paraphernalia possession
At 5:55 p.m. Jan. 16, a citizen reported that occupants of a vehicle in the Food Lion parking lot appeared to be smoking suspected drugs. Dfc. J. Morgan and Dfc. W. Wells responded and made contact with the occupants. Aaron Jay Wesley-Moran, 20, of Waldorf and Lucas Wade Robinson, 21, Kenneth John Cratty, Jr., 22, and Travis David Williams, 21, all of Lusby, were each cited for possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. Wesley-Moran was also served with an open Calvert County warrant.
Someone burglarized a home in the 11000 block of Poplar Drive sometime between Dec. 15 and Jan. 16. The door was kicked in but nothing was taken, and Dfc. W. Wells is investigating.
Paraphernalia found in car
At 2:17 a.m. Jan. 19, Cpl. A. Moschetto stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 4 at Southern Connector Boulevard. He cited the driver, Anthony L. Romero, 18, of Columbia, Md., with intent to use paraphernalia.
Catalytic converters stolen
Two catalytic converters, valued at $5,000, were stolen from two vehicles parked at a business on Keith Lane sometime between Jan. 11 and 14. Another catalytic converter, valued at $2,400, was stolen from a vehicle parked near a business on Keith Lane during the same time. Dfc. A. Locke is investigating.
Checks, cash stolen
Someone entered a home in the 4400 block of Woodview Lane overnight between Jan. 15 and 16 and stole checks and currency that were in a purse. The homeowner was in bed and heard her dog barking but did not get up to investigate. Cpl. McCarroll is investigating.
Sometime between Jan. 4 and 16, $2,480 worth of jewelry was stolen from a home in the 7300 block of Stone Court and Deputy L. Wood is investigating.
Someone stole a $1,500 catalytic converter from a vehicle parked at the Park & Ride on Jan. 17 during the day. Deputy M. Quinn is investigating.
