An Indian Head man was arrested Jan. 16 after a woman, noticing her home in the 3000 block of Dick Simmons Place in Indian Head had been broken into, peeked inside and spotted him sitting on her couch, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Randolph Savoy was charged with burglary, theft and destruction of property.
The woman arrived home at about 12:22 a.m. and saw her front door had been pried open. She looked inside and saw Savoy on her couch playing with a television remote.
She called police, who responded and spoke with Savoy and searched the house.
Officers found evidence that Savoy had ransacked a room, stolen some items, eaten a piece of cake and used the woman’s electric razor.
A computer check showed that Savoy had an open warrant for failing to appear in court on a prior charge of disorderly conduct.
