Damascus youth success mentor Melanie Woods will appear in an episode of “Let’s Ask America” airing at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4.

Woods will be one of four contestants in the game show’s Hometown Heroes special. Contestants participate in the show via Skype, a video calling service available on computers, smartphones and other devices with a web camera. She will be up against a firefighter from Ohio, a police officer from New Jersey and a fifth-grade teacher from Tennessee.

“Let’s Ask America” is a 30-minute daily game show featuring contestants who sign up online to compete against viewers across the country. The show asks contestants questions about the general feeling of Americans about various topics. Whoever correctly predicts the right answer wins prize money. A contestant can win up to $50,000.

The closest network currently airing “Let’s Ask America” is Baltimore’s WMAR, an ABC affiliate. The show is expected to appear nationally in Fall 2013.
