Rock Creek Conservancy is looking for local homeowners associations to participate in a new pet-waste initiative funded by the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection.

The year-long Poop Loop Pet Waste Pilot Project aims to address the health and environmental hazards of pet waste.

Pet-waste collection stations will be installed in March in participating communities to determine whether the stations, combined with community education, will change pet-waste disposal methods. At the end of the pilot project, participating communities may opt to keep their pet-waste stations.

The pilot is open to communities between Georgia Avenue and Rockville Pike in the county. Contact Rock Creek Conservancy at 202-237-8866 or info@rockcreekconservancy.org for more information.
