The Watt’s Up? School Energy Recycling Team (SERT)’s Energy and Water Conservation and Recycling Poster Contest has a new category for the 2012-13 school year.

School staff may now enter along with students in grades K-12.

For the contest, each entry must integrate the themes of energy conservation, water conservation and recycling, using words and pictures to encourage others to be responsible stewards of resources and the environment. Entries will be judged according to grade-level categories: K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. There also will be a staff category.

Each school may enter one poster per age group.

The deadline for entries is March 12. All entries must be submitted via Pony or first-class mail or by hand-delivery to SERT, Department of Facilities Management, 45 W. Gude Drive, Suite 4000, Rockville, MD 20850.
