Madeline T. Robey, 90, Bryans Road
Madeline T. “Maddie” Robey, 90, of Bryans Road died Jan. 23, 2013, at Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton.
Born Aug. 17, 1922, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late William F. and the late Mabel Lee Ferris.
She spent most of her life in Washington, D.C., until she married Hugh P. Robey and they moved to Charles County.
Before her retirement, she was director of admissions for George Washington University Hospital in the District.
After retirement, she spent her time playing bingo with her friends and vacationing at the beach. One of her favorite hobbies was reading, and she loved to watch the Baltimore Orioles.
She was a longtime member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Indian Head.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh P. Robey.
She is survived by her children, Sandy San Luis of Fort Washington, Harry Siebert of Waldorf and Pat Robey of Bryans Road; grandchild, Kimberly and her husband Jeff Hammett; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Rebecca Hammett; sister, Beverly Cook of Ranburne, Ala.; friend, Carol Schabenger of Crofton; and many other relatives.
A life celebration will be held from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 31 at George P. Kalas Funeral Home, Oxon Hill, where a service will be held at noon Feb. 1. Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland.
