Explorations Unlimited will host a presentation on dental care from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the Greenbelt Community Center, 15 Crescent Road in room 114.
“Explorations Unlimited is a speaker series designed for senior citizens, but open to any interested members of the public and it’s free. All you have to do is sign in,” said Karen Haseley, therapeutic recreation supervisor at the center.
Dr. Jay McCarl and Dr. Dianne Lee will present on the importance of caring for teeth and will discuss topics such as common dental side effects of prescription drugs and the importance of tooth preservation, according to a release from Explorations Unlimited.
Lee graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in 2009 and McCarl also earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland Dental school and is the grandson of Greenbelt’s first dentist, James W. McCarl, according to the release.
Door prizes may also be awarded, the release stated.
