The Calvert Library has been featuring local artists at the main location in Prince Frederick as well as at Twin Beaches branch.
Prince Frederick hosts artists for two months at a time and will be hosting The Winsor Salon for February and March. The salon is a group of eight artists who have been painting together for about three years.
According the Rene Cunningham, art coordinator for the Prince Frederick location, the name of this group was selected to “recall 18th-century gatherings of those interested in the arts, as well as reflect the group’s love of the beauty, translucence and opacity of watercolors.” It happens that Winsor & Newton is the watercolor brand of choice for most members of the group.
The group members are Barbara Bennett, Peggy Hovermale, Barbara Mason, Carole Purcell, Nancy Schnell, Nancy Ellen Thompson and Karen Zuza.
Calvert Library Twin Beaches is featuring photographer Judith Upton’s work for February.
