CalvART Gallery will offer art workshops in February and March featuring jewelry making, fused glass and acrylic painting for beginners.
Saturday, Feb. 2, from 1 to 5 p.m., workshop features artists Mickey Kunkle and Jimmy Cintron conducting a jewelry making workshop just in time for Valentine’s Day, producing a colorful polymer cabochon gem wrapped with wire to make a pendant and simple adjustable cord. Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m., workshop features artists Phyllis and Ray Noble with an introduction to fused glass. Participants will learn the basics of art glass production making a small art piece to take home. The class is limited to eight people at $25 per person, supplies will be included. Saturday, March 23, from 6 to 9 p.m., workshop features artist Pamela Callen, with a class for beginner acrylic painters discussing the basics of color, value and composition, color mixing and demonstrations for each step in the process. Each participant will receive a small canvas and paint brushes to use for the evening and will take away a finished landscape. Paints and other supplies will be provided. CalvART Gallery offers regular showings of new art by both members and special exhibits by nonmembers.
The gallery is in the Prince Frederick Center at routes 231 and 4 between Dreamweaver Cafe and Sakura Restaurant.
