Marjorie Alice Richards, 91, of Brandywine died Jan. 29, 2013, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton.

She was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Upper Marlboro to the late Elizabeth Virginia (Boswell) Kidwell and Benjamin Howard Kidwell.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge and various senior citizen groups. Prior to working in the school cafeterias for Prince George’s County Public Schools, she was a housewife and raised 13 children. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, doing word search books, spending time with her family and her Saturday night card games.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Edward Richards; children, Mary Alice Atchison, Catherine Jones, Donald Richards, Gloria “Jean” Richards and Charles “Sonny” Richards; and grandchild, Barbara Mobley.

She is survived by her children, Melvin Richards, Randy Richards, Doris Righter, Helen Richards, Debbie Hines, Mike Richards, Bob “Slim” Richards and Connie Richards; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends for a celebration of her life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, with prayers beginning at 7 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall.

A Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Most Holy Rosary Church (St. Joseph Center) in Upper Marlboro.

Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Upper Marlboro.
