Michelle Tilman has been promoted to director of operations at Bay Community Support Services, an agency that provides support services to people with disabilities in Maryland.

Tilman, an employee of BAY-CSS for more than 10 years, started her career with BAY-CSS as a residential coordinator and received her first promotion to community developer in August 2005.

In January 2009, she also was appointed as the agency’s quality assurance manager. Tilman served in the dual role of community developer and quality assurance manager for more than four years, during which time she worked to ensure a high standard for the agency’s programs and services, states a news release announcing her promotion.

In August, Tilman received a promotion to quality assurance director.

Before joining BAY-CSS, Tilman earned a master’s in counseling psychology and worked at St. Joseph Medical Center as a nursing assistant for the Center for Eating Disorders and General Psychiatry unit for four years.

“Michelle comes to the position with both the education and experience that will help her be successful. She believes in our mission, understands our agency and its processes inside and out, and comes to the position well-prepared. We are excited to have her in this new role in our agency,” Mitzi Bernard, BAY-CSS executive director, said in the release.
