Montgomery County Police are investigating a Friday afternoon single-vehicle crash in Olney that has left one person dead and two others injured.

Police said that at 4:30 p.m., officers from the 4th District and Fire/EMS personnel responded to the 16600 block of Batchellors Forest Road in response to a single-vehicle crash.

Initial investigation indicated that, for reasons still under investigation, a black 2005 Ford Focus left the road and struck a tree, police report.

A passenger in the rear seat, identified as Earl Dong-Min Lee, 19, of the 3300 block of Norbeck in the Olney/Aspen Hill area, died of his injuries at the scene.

The driver, Brandon Drake Goodman, 21, of Brookeville, and the front-seat passenger, David Lankford Hampp, 21, of Olney, were both transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The collision remains under investigation, said Capt. Paul Starks, director of the media services division with the Montgomery police.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620. Callers may remain anonymous.
