The Frederick County Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is celebrating the organization’s 100th anniversary with a series of events.

The sorority was founded in 1913 on the Howard University Campus in Washington, D.C. The Frederick County Alumnae Chapter was chartered in 2004, and provides public service programs throughout the county, according to a news release.

As part of the celebrations, the group held a reception at the C. Burr Artz Public Library in Frederick on Saturday night, where attendees could view seven display cases of information on the group’s history and public service work.
