John Harold Beers, 82, of Charlotte Hall died Feb. 1, 2013, at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.

Born Feb. 9, 1930, in Harrisburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Ida C. (Tritt) and Chester Beers.

He served in the military for 20 years and retired from the U.S. Air Force. Later, he became a collections manager with Equifax. He was a handyman and enjoyed watching television and football. He also loved his cats. He made the most of his retirement.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Beers-Speelman of Adelphi; and his stepdaughter, Dr. Carol Ann Lee of Sacramento, Calif.

Services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall.
