Leonardtown 6, St. Mary’s Ryken 0

Nick Pontorno scored three times to power the Raiders (8-4, 5-4 Southern Conference) to a shutout win over Ryken last Wednesday at the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf.

Alec Guarnero had two goals and Jonathan Schroeder added a goal and an assist. Cullen Bonnel and Nick Wright each added one assist and goalie Joe Molina made 14 saves to record the shutout and improve to 7-0 on the season.

Three of Leonardtown’s goals were on the power play and one was shorthanded. Three goals were unassisted.

Taylor Rhodes stopped 14 of 20 shots in the goal for the Knights (5-8-1, 4-5-1).

Ryken 4, Thomas Stone 2

Anthony Fortescue and Nick Steele scored within 12 seconds of each other early in the second period to help the Knights double up Thomas Stone on Friday at the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf.

With the game tied at 1, Fortescue scored a minute into the second period and Steele tallied a dozen seconds later to help Ryken snap a seven-game winless streak.

Ryken fired 20 shots on goal in the second period alone. Nathan Blondino and John Bouchard also scored for the Knights and Erik Rivenburgh, Evan Brennan, Patrick Bouchard and Sebastian Meizoso each added an assist. Rhodes stopped 11 of 13 shots in goal.

The Cougars (2-10, 1-9) received a goal each from Tyler Cassidy and Hunter Stempin and Tyler Fulginiti and Kristopher Algarin each notched an assist. Goalie Kira Maginnis made 25 saves, but Stone has lost its last five.

Northern 0, Leonardtown 0



Huntingtown 17, La Plata 0

Robert Hand (4 goals, 3 assists) and Patrick Laiosa (3 goals, 4 assists) each had seven points to lead the Hurricanes (9-8, 9-1) to a blowout win over La Plata on Friday at the Capital Clubhouse.

Tyler Sullivan added three goals and a three assists and Joey Laiosa chipped in with five assists. Ben Camilletti had a goal and three helpers and Collin Gray and Brendan White each finished with a goal and two assists. Austin Harrington had a goal and an assist. Sam Camilletti and Cody Powers each made one save to share the shutout.

Four times during the game the Hurricanes scored twice within a span of a minute. Huntingtown has won four of its last five with all of its wins over this span being shutouts.

Northern 17, Bowie 3

Michael Carr scored seven goals to help the Patriots (9-0, 9-0) cruise to a rout over host Bowie on Friday at the Bowie Ice Rink.

Willie Bennett added two goals and four assists, Michael Santiago chipped in with three goals and two assists and Andrew Bruening added a hat trick and an assist. Kyle Kampsen and Braeden McFadyen each scored once and Chris Ruyter assisted on three goals. Joey Gebicke and Kerry Henegar each added two helpers.
