Mark D. Leadmon, 53, Lusby

Mark D. Leadmon, 53, of Lusby died Feb. 4, 2013.

Born March 2, 1959, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Mars D. Leadmon and the late Penny Brinegar Leadmon.

His strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and deep love for his wife, Sarah, carried him through years of battling cancer. The support and prayers of family and friends provided constant inspiration. He was a loving example to his family, church and many friends. His greatest joy was serving God through various ministries including volunteering, speaking and mentoring. He also enjoyed coaching softball for Grace Chapel and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Redskins.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Sarah E. Sherman; brothers, Jeff Leadmon and his wife Donna and Lorren Leadmon and his wife Terry; sisters, Patricia Snyder and her husband Carl and Gina Stoutenburgh and her husband John; and many other relatives.

A memorial celebration will be held from 3-8 p.m. Feb. 8 at Grace Chapel Ministries, Helen, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 9. Dr. Carl H. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be private.
