Tom Oliver, 52, Port Tobacco

Tom Oliver, 52, of Port Tobacco died Feb. 5, 2013, in Washington, D.C.

Born April 6, 1960, in the District, he was the son of Betty Oliver and the late John Oliver.

Growing up in Chicago, he was an avid Bears fan. He loved cars, guitars and watches, but music was his passion. Being on the water, boating, eating crabs and spending time with his friends and family were some of his favorite times. He was a mechanic by trade and owned Oliver’s Automotive in Waldorf.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Shelton Oliver.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Debby Oliver; sons, Thomas Wrey Oliver and Daniel Adam Oliver; brothers, John Oliver, Michael Oliver and Mark Oliver; and sister, Gail Oliver.

A life celebration will be held at 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Feb. 10 at Middleton Hall, Waldorf. Burial will be private.

Arrangements are being handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata.
