David Christopher Blandford, 43, Hughesville

David Christopher Blandford, 43, of Hughesville died Feb. 4, 2013, at home.

Born June 8, 1969, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Thomas Ray Blandford Jr. and the late Margaret Elizabeth O’Neil Blandford.

Mr. Blandford served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army, participating in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He enjoyed sports, baseball, cooking, collecting baseball cards, boating, and being with his children and family. He had a great love of music. He was a great storyteller and practical joker, bringing fun and joy to every event.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene O’Neil and Sara White O’Neil, Thomas Ray Blandford Sr. and Ellen Earnshaw Blandford.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his sons, Collin Blandford and Sean Blandford; daughters, Kealey Blandford and Natalie Blandford; brothers, Edward M. Blandford and his wife Lin and Thomas R. Blandford III and his wife Pamela; sister, Teressa Lynn Pepper and her husband Timothy; godson, Thomas R. Blandford IV; nieces, Crystal Pepper Sigafoose, Ashley Pepper and Tabatha Blandford; nephews, Robert Pepper, Bradley Blandford, Tim Blandford and Mike Blandford; great-nephews, Lucas and Camden Sigafoose; and many other relatives.

A life celebration will be held from 5-8 p.m. Feb. 10 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, Charlotte Hall. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 11 at St. Mary’s of Piscataway Church, Clinton. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
