Patricia Ann Flaherty, 83, Pomfret

Patricia Ann Flaherty, 83, of Pomfret died Feb. 5, 2013, at home under hospice care.

Born Aug. 19, 1929, in Equality, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Albert J. Hayden and the late Mary Wilma McGuire Hayden.

Mrs. Flaherty was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pomfret.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Jack” Flaherty; son, Patrick M. Flaherty; and sister, Theresa Roberts.

She is survived by her son, William T. Flaherty of Annandale, Va.; daughters, Jackie E. Palmer of Pomfret, Susan M. Flaherty of Annandale, Lorraine A. and her husband Bill Kayes of Alexandria, Va,, Mary E. and her husband James Stewart of Stafford, Va., and Marie T. and her husband Rick Kimball of Woodbridge, Va.; sister, Karen and her husband Sam Toder of Indian Head; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. with a wake service at 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at Raymond Funeral Service, La Plata. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Feb. 12 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pomfret. The Rev. Robert Kosty will officiate. Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland.
