Someone broke into several unlocked cars on Teagues Point Road in Hughesville and stole an iPod between 12:01 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Jan. 26, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The thieves also entered an unlocked garage and stole a large water cooler jar filled with coins.
Officers canvassed the area and found two sets of footprints in the snow, one of which appeared to be made by a boot about 15 inches long.
Several other vehicles had been tampered with nearby on Swan Harbor Lane, but nothing was reported stolen.
Officer M. Hancock is investigating.
