Sam DiPaola has been appointed a president of SunTrust Banks’ Baltimore office covering the area from Frederick to Southern Maryland.
Since 2006, DiPaola has served as head of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey’s Greater Washington Region office. His team focused on leading mergers, acquisitions and equity capital markets advisory assignments in the aerospace, defense and government services sectors.
“Sam’s broad experience — from his years in banking and local industry to his deep roots in Baltimore and military service — has prepared him well for his new role,” said Scott Wilfong, SunTrust Bank’s Greater Washington Region chairman, president and CEO, in a news release. “The enthusiasm he brings to his new position and strong commitment to deliver exceptional service to clients enhance our ability to help our clients achieve financial well-being.”
DiPaola holds a bachelor’s in mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master’s in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Maryland. He began his career serving worldwide as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.
