Two men in St. Mary’s were injured in separate shootings a little more than 48 hours apart, according to detectives, and no arrests were reported from either case.

The first incident occurred shortly after midnight Saturday morning, when gunshots fired during a house party in Clements sent a 23-year-old man to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, detectives report, where he was treated for his injuries and released.

The culprit got away from the scene of the 12:45 a.m. shooting on Jenny Lynn Lane, where investigators report that he had pulled out a handgun and fired multiple rounds.

Early Monday morning, a Maryland State Police helicopter crew flew a 23-year-old man to a hospital after he suffered gunshot injuries to his lower abdomen and leg, detectives report, during a fight in a Great Mills area neighborhood.

Police went to Coronado Drive at about 1:22 a.m. that day, detectives report, and the investigators determined that the injured man had been in a physical altercation with one person when the armed assailant approached and began shooting.

Detectives have requested that anyone with information about either shooting call them at 301-475-4200, ext. 1954, contact St. Mary’s Crime Solvers at 301-475-3333 or text a tip to CRIMES (274637), typing TIP239 and then the message.
