Patuxent 70, Lackey 45
Trey Lee scored a team-high 23 points to carry the host Panthers to a win over Lackey on senior night.
Patuxent’s quartet of 12th-graders — Lee, Colton Catron (7 points), Sean Hayden (6 points) and Jake Dunigan (6 points) — combined to score 42 of the team’s 70 points.
The Panthers (4-18, 1-11) led by 12 points at the half and sealed the win by outscoring Lackey 22-5 in the third quarter.
Jahi Norman had nine points and four assists and Jake Anderson had four blocks for Patuxent, which forced 24 turnovers.
The four wins are the most Patuxent has had since the 2008-09 season when it won eight games.
Perry Street Prep (D.C.) 58,
Corey Darden scored a team-high 13 points but the host Cougars (10-9, 4-6 MISAL) were unable to hold onto a first-quarter lead and fell to the Bay Division champions on Tuesday.
Calverton earned the No. 3 seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs and will travel to Spencerville at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday for a quarterfinal match-up.
The Cougars led 14-11 after the opening quarter, but were outscored 22-9 in the second period and Perry never looked back as Calverton could only muster 12 second-half points.
Ty Herriott scored eight points for the Cougars and Alan Ashford scored three.
Perry Street Prep (D.C.) 26
The red-hot Cougars won their fifth straight game after downing visiting Perry on Tuesday.
The Cougars (11-6, 6-3) earned the No. 1 seed in the playoffs and will host Seed School (D.C.) at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
Shannon Moore had team-highs in points (16) and rebounds (13). Cheyenne Manning added 11 points, six assists, five steals and three boards.
Elise Bouchard cored eight points and added five boards and Olivia Fisher chipped in with six points and pulled down four rebounds.
Ben Camilletti had a game-high four points as the Hurricanes (10-8 overall) rolled over Leonardtown in the Southern Conference semifinals Wednesday at the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf.
Huntingtown will face top-seeded Northern in the 2A Southern Conference championship at 5 p.m. today at the Capital Clubhouse.
The Patriots (10-0) won an 8-6 thriller over Huntingtown on Jan. 11. The winner will move on to the state playoffs. All state teams will be seeded based on RPI against other MSHL teams, including conference championships.
Camilletti had a goal and three assists and Tyler Sullivan added two goals and one assist. Collin Gray, Robert Hand, Tyler Myrick and Matthew Scott each scored once. Gray added two assists and John Hand had one and Cody Powers stopped 17 of 18 shots for Huntingtown, which led 3-0 after the first period.
Alec Guarnero scored the lone goal for the Raiders (8-6) with assists going to Cullen Bonnel and Daniel Famiglietti. Nathan Hanson made 28 saves for Leonardtown, which has lost two straight after a seven-game win streak.
