Larry Bernard Brooks Sr., 62, of Prince Frederick died Jan. 19, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 19, 1950, in Huntingtown to Lena Willett and Dennis Brooks.
He was known as “Big Larry” to his friends and many acquaintances, and he was affectionately known as “Bubba” to his wife of 42 years, Mildred. He worked for B. Frank Joy for many years as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed his work and was never late. He was never tired of talking about his job sites and co-workers. He was a firm believer in Jehovah. He had so much love for Jehovah and he always told everyone and anyone, “You got to have faith.” He will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lena and Dennis; sister, Joan; and brother, Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; daughters, Tammie, Tonya and her husband, Kelvin, and Courtney; sons, Larry Jr. and Jermaine and his wife, Mabel; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Jean, Elsie, Rosalie, Martha Eleanor, Brenda Lee and Dennis Jr.; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation was held Jan. 24 at Sewell Funeral Home in Prince Frederick.
Interment was private.
