Dane Corey Powell, 53, of Prince Frederick, formerly of Port Tobacco and Cumberland, died Feb. 15, 2013, at the Burnett-Calvert Hospice House in Prince Frederick.

He was born April 26, 1959, in Miami to the late Willa Jane (McKenzee) Powell and Boyd Kent Powell Sr.

He served in the U.S. Marines for four years. Later, he became an elevator mechanic for Quality Elevator Co. He belonged to the Harley Owners Group. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Christina Marie Powell of Prince Frederick; sons, Wayne Michael Eversole of Port Republic and Bryce Anthony Eversole of La Plata; brothers, Boyd Powell Jr. of Morgantown, W.Va., and Cliff Powell of Springfield, W.Va.; and grandchildren, Angel, Nevaeh, Allie and Corey Eversole.

Family will receive friends for a celebration of his life from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Huffman officiating.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham.
