Geraldine Regina Simmons Key, 66, Pisgah

Geraldine Regina “Sis Baby” Simmons Key, 66, of Pisgah died Feb. 12, 2013.

She was born Aug. 29, 1946, in Marbury.

She attended Charles County public schools. She was raised in Marbury by her grandmother, the late Alice Kelton. She married Joseph Earl Key Sr. on Sept. 14, 1981.

Up until her husband’s death they were best friends. They were seldom seen without each other. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and watching her favorite TV shows.

In addition to her grandmother and husband, she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Jo’nae Davis.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Davis, Linda Stewart, Joseph Jr., Michael Sr., Geraldine, Edward Sr. and Zachery Sr.; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Maddox; sisters, Estelle “Betty” Taylor and Louise “Lou” Key; four daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams; and brother-in-law, Thomas Key.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Feb. 23 at Thornton Funeral Home, Pomonkey. Burial will take place at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pisgah.
