Maryland State Police trooper first class Scarlett was called to the scene of an accident at 1:06 a.m. Feb. 21 at the intersection of Rosewick Road and U.S. 301 in La Plata.

Police reported that Pamela Christine Thompson, 62, of Annapolis ran her 2011 Honda CRV off the road while she was traveling south on U.S. 301.

The car flipped over several times and hit two highway signs before coming to rest in a roadside ditch.

Thompson was taken to the Prince George’s Hospital Center Shock Trauma Center in Cheverly for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police said that Thompson was drunk at the time of the incident and charged her with DUI and traffic offenses.
