Scott Pfister has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Precise Systems.
In his new role, he will oversee the day-to-day activities of the company, which is headquartered in Lexington Park and does business in eight states.
Pfister has worked for Precise Systems since May 2001. In the early days, he led the Precise Systems’ PMA-261 USMC Heavy Lift Helicopters team before his selection in 2009 as director of programs.
Most recently, he served as COO and vice president of U.S. Marine Corps programs.
Pfister is a native of Wilmot, Ohio.
He is a decorated combat veteran with valor awards for his actions during the extraction under fire of downed U.S. Air Force pilot Capt. Scott O’Grady in Bosnia in June 1995. In 1996, Pfister was the recipient of the Danny L. Radish Award given by the Marine Corps Aviation Association to the Enlisted Aircrew Marine of the Year.
Pfister holds a bachelor’s of science in professional aeronautics. He is a leader in Southern Maryland youth and community activities and serves as a member on the board of directors for the Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Council.
As part of his council responsibilities, he works with the Vet Bridge Program, which creates hiring opportunities for veterans.
