Gail Manuel and bereavement dog Sadie from Friendship Pet Memorial Park presented a check to the Humane Society of Charles County for $150 on Feb. 6. Each year, the pet memorial park sponsors a Christmas Tree of Remembrance. Families are able to purchase a ribbon and put their pet’s name on it, which is then placed on a holly tree in the middle of the park. Friendship Pet Memorial Park donates the proceeds from the sale of the ribbons to the humane society.
“We are honored to be able to help support the wonderful work the humane society does in the community and for homeless animals,” said Manuel, director of Friendship Pet Memorial Park.
The Christmas Tree of Remembrance program is a way for pet owners to stay connected with their late pets. Friendship Pet Memorial Park offers final arrangements for pets and is in the perimeter of Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf.
