Our team had an exciting and productive day at regionals last Saturday.

Everyone knew that no one was guaranteed a spot to swim for states, so we had to put all of our energy into every race.

Our girls medley relay started the meet with a second-place finish, which meant we automatically qualified for states. This was very exciting.

The pool seemed to have slower swims than usual, which was disappointing. But our team had several other great finishes, including two other relays qualifying for states.

Last year, none of our boys relays qualified for states, so it was exciting for our boys medley relay to make it.

Both of us will be swimming individual events this Saturday at states, Amber in the backstroke and Taylor in the breaststroke. We have two other teammates who will be participating in their individual events as well, Rachel Pritchett (freestyle) and Josh Linsmeier (butterfly).

The state championship is the final and most important meet of the entire season. This is what everyone has been working toward, so we all need to make sure that we push ourselves so that all of our hard work pays off.

Everyone wants to finish the season on a good note. The team is prepared for the meet, and we are all hoping to drop time and place well.

We know that the toughest competition will be seen at states, so everyone has to be ready. Saturday is our last shot to prove ourselves this season.

It’s now or never, and we have to remember how much effort we have put in this season to get to this point.
