Kathy Arlene Boyce, 61, of Port Republic died Feb. 10, 2013, in Washington, D.C.

She was born April 19, 1951, to Donald and Ruth Beach in Rome, N.Y.

She had a passion for cooking and enjoyed the happiness the end result brought to so many people. It was a way to spend time with loved ones and the people she cared for the most. She was always concerned over other people’s happiness before her own, and that is one ingredient that was in abundance in her recipe for life. She also enjoyed camping with her family in upstate New York and had a fondness for animals, especially dogs. Her giving of herself did not just pertain to her family. The one charity that garnered most of her attention was the Wounded Warrior Project. Though gone from sight, she remains in her loved ones’ hearts.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Beach of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

She is survived by both her parents; husband, Thomas F. Boyce; sons, Kenneth D. Boyce and his wife, Kyung-Hwa, of Graham, W.Va., and Kevin T. Boyce and his wife, Carrie, of Front Royal, Va.; and grandchildren, Victoria, Kenneth, Collin, Kaden and Riley Boyce.

Services were private.

Arrangements were provided by Rausch Funeral Home in Port Republic.
